Domaine Cornu Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Rouge is made from Pinot Noir grapes in the Burgundy region in France. It is aged in oak barrels, and the wine stands out with a flavor profile often featuring raspberries, cherries and sometimes violets.
A well-behaved Pinot Noir wine that’s neither too tannic or too heavy, it accompanies white meats and will stand up to a slightly spicy cuisine. Multiple dishes pair well with this wine because of its very pleasant balance.
The Domaine was founded over forty years ago by Claude who had worked in Romanee Conti. Now his son Alexandre Cornu is leading the winery. The vineyard practices are predominantly organic or “Lutte Raisonee” practices (organic in principle just without formal certification) and produce vibrant fruit of high quality and low yields. In the winery, wild yeasts are used, and all reds are 100% destemmed with a mixture of barrel ageing and maturation in French oak for 18 months, depending on the Cuvée.
