Leeuwin Estate Prelude Chardonnay comes from the world-famous Leeuwin Estate winery, one of Margaret River’s and Australia’s great Estates. Their Prelude range focuses on the region's benchmark varietals which are made in a more accessible form than the Art Series range whilst still retaining strong varietal character.

A superb example of the Leeuwin Estate style at a fraction of the Art Series price.

Bright, aromatic and varietal cut lime, pear and nectarine. Jasmine and frangipani notes give heightened subtleties to the fruit spectrum. Cashew, almond meal, popcorn, chamomile create a gorgeous center to the nose.
A vibrant and ethereal palate – great direction with shape and frame. Energetic and lively citrus fruits meets saline acidity. Gentle nuances of hazelnut, and sweet spice add a complementary layer and contour to the palate.
"This is such an impressive wine. The peach and nectarine fruit has intrinsic depth and power. The textural components are a highlight as is the length of flavour. 40% new oak, no malolactic fermentation."

Barry Weinman, Fine Wine Club
“Leeuwin Estate is renowned for its famous Art Series chardonnay… Leeuwin’s next level down is the Prelude, a wine that many wineries would be tickled pink to have as their top chardonnay. A generous vintage has produced this generous wine. It shows the further tweaking of the style, which is somewhere in between the earlier vintages and the brief move into a more contemporary style. It works well with the punchy fruit balanced by fine, minerally acidity and a light layer of oak.”
Ray Jordan, The West Australian
"Sweet vanilla, toast, mandarin, cashew and custard apple aromas suggest breadth, yet nectarine bite and livewire lime acidity delivers tension and twang, propelling the citrus and perfumed pear fruit along. Subtly creamy lees brings texture and roast hazelnut oak (40% new) lends savoury nuance. Hugely enjoyable now with the structure for mid-term ageing."
