The grapes for Ottella Lugana Le Crete come from our own vineyard, Le Creete, 12 hectares in the heart of Lugana, marked by a high white clay content.

Gentle, soft crushing of whole bunches is used for most of our production, while the rest is lightly de-stemmed by oscillation. Then follows a strict wine-making process: racking off the lees by natural settling, slow fermentation at a controlled temperature (14°/18°C); ageing for 6-8 months on fine lees.

Turbiana (Trebbiano di Lugana) grapes are used to make this wine.

The wine is intense golden yellow. Pervasive on the nose with immediate exotic hints of pineapple and notes of grapefruit. It unfolds pleasantly with a remarkable mineral sensation. It is a wine with character and great aromatic elegance. On the palate, it is full, warm and velvety with a very persistent finish. Enjoy its unique complexity and balanced structure with an extraordinary aromatic persistence.

About the Winery

Ottella: The Intersection of Winemaking and Artistic Expression

Nestled in the picturesque region of Veneto, Ottella stands as a beacon of innovation, seamlessly blending the worlds of winemaking and art. Established in 1905 by the Montresor family, Ottella has evolved over generations, with brothers Michele and Francesco Montresor currently at the helm, infusing their passion for art into every facet of the winery.

The winery itself is a testament to this fusion. Designed with contemporary aesthetics, it houses an impressive collection of modern artworks, creating an immersive experience where visitors can appreciate the synergy between visual art and viticulture. This commitment to artistic integration extends to their labels, architecture, and even the winemaking process, ensuring that each bottle is not just a beverage but a piece of art.

Ottella's vineyards, spanning 90 hectares in the Lugana DOC, benefit from the unique microclimate near Lake Garda. This terroir imparts distinctive characteristics to their wines, particularly the indigenous Turbiana grape. Their innovative approach includes the use of amphorae for fermentation, as seen in their "Back to Silence" wine, highlighting their dedication to both tradition and experimentation.

Through their unwavering commitment to quality and creativity, Ottella has established itself as a pioneer in the realm of artistic winemaking, offering connoisseurs a truly unique and enriching experience.
