Tasting notes

A pure and elegant Saint-Joseph Syrah from granite hillside terraces overlooking the Rhone, named for the dry stone walls that support the ancient soils. Fresh, tangy red fruits combine with peppery Syrah notes and graphite on the nose. The palate is round, fruity, and gourmet with crunchy red fruit flavors, velvety tannins, and a fine structure. Mineral freshness from the granitic terroir carries through to a refined and lingering finish with characteristic Northern Rhone finesse.

Serving temperature

Serve at 15-17 °C

Food pairings

Roast veal chop with mushrooms, grilled lamb cutlets, beef bourguignon, mature cheeses; Asian pairings: braised pork belly bao, Japanese tonkatsu, Korean jjim galbi, Chinese red-braised beef

Awards & recognition

Cave Yves Cuilleron Saint Joseph Les Pierres Seches is a focused and expressive Northern Rhône red, showing Syrah through a lens of freshness, spice and mineral tension.

The wine is vinified with measured extraction and matured in oak to refine structure, adding depth and polish without covering the character of the fruit.

Cuilleron's sustainable viticulture is based on respect for the land, careful vineyard observation and practices that encourage balance rather than force.

Yves Cuilleron is deeply associated with Saint-Joseph, where his family roots and detailed knowledge of steep Rhône vineyards help produce wines of clarity, energy and character.
