About Champagne

Champagne is produced exclusively in northern France’s Champagne region, using Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes under strict regulations. Crafted by the traditional method with in-bottle fermentation, Champagne is celebrated globally as a symbol of luxury and celebration.

Notes of citrus, green apple, almond, and brioche combine with fine bubbles and chalky minerality to create wines of elegance and persistence. Styles range from crisp non-vintage bottlings to rare prestige cuvées, all showcasing craftsmanship.

Champagne shines with oysters, smoked salmon, and foie gras, yet also surprises with sushi, dim sum, or fried chicken – a testament to its versatility. A drink for both toasting and gastronomy, Champagne embodies celebration elevated by finesse.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy Champagne online in Singapore?

Curated Wines stocks around 50 Champagnes, from famous houses such as Bollinger, Billecart-Salmon, Perrier-Jouët, Ruinart and Dom Pérignon to smaller grower producers like Pierre Moncuit and Vincent Couche. We deliver to any address in Singapore on weekdays, usually within 2-3 business days. For orders of $250 and above, delivery is free; below $250, a flat $15 fee applies.

What is the difference between Champagne, Crémant and Prosecco?

Champagne comes only from the Champagne region of France and gets its fine bubbles from a second fermentation in the bottle. Crémant uses the same traditional method in other French regions, often at a lower price, while Prosecco, from north-east Italy, is fermented in large tanks for a fresher, fruitier style.

What do Brut, NV and Blanc de Blancs mean?

Brut means dry, with very little added sugar. NV (non-vintage) is a blend of wines from several years, made to keep a consistent house style. Blanc de Blancs is made only from white grapes, usually Chardonnay.

How cold should I serve Champagne?

Serve Champagne at 6-8°C. In Singapore's heat, chill it in the fridge for a few hours, or in an ice bucket with water for about 20 minutes, before opening.
