Cérvoles Celler Estrats is a mountain-grown red blend from vineyards perched at 700 to 750 metres in Catalonia's Les Garrigues. The original winery gift carton contains 4 individual 750 ml bottles.

Grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Tempranillo and Merlot are fermented warm and separately by variety, before completing malolactic fermentation and eighteen months of ageing in new French oak, with regular stirring of the lees to build volume and texture.

The estate's high-altitude plots are farmed with ecological management, a deliberate choice given the exposed, semi-arid mountain terrain the vines must survive.

Cérvoles Celler was founded in 1997 by Tomàs Cusiné, marking Catalonia's first mountain viticulture project and a return to an ancestral winegrowing practice long overlooked in the region.

Wine details

14% ABV - 750 ml - Costers del Segre DO

Sustainability

Cervoles Celler dry-farms its vineyards without irrigation, relying on moisture retained in the deep limestone soils of Les Garrigues — a practice that forces the vines to root deeply, reduces water use, and produces naturally concentrated, healthy fruit without additional chemical intervention.

Tasting notes

Deep ruby-purple with aromas of blackcurrant, plum, Mediterranean herbs, and earthy spice. The warm limestone and clay soils of Les Garrigues lend concentration and depth to the Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Merlot, and Tempranillo blend. Firm but polished tannins, bright acidity, and a long spiced finish make this a natural partner for the dinner table.

Serving temperature

Serve at 16-18 °C

Food pairings

Slow-roasted lamb shoulder, aged Manchego, grilled venison, wild mushroom stew; Asian pairings: Peking duck, braised pork belly with soy and star anise, char siu, Sichuan-spiced beef hotpot
