Sustainability

Tasting notes

Dark ruby with intense purple core. Brooding and complex nose of elderberry, dark-roasted coffee, and violets with layers of tobacco, damp earth, and dried herbs. The palate is intensely concentrated and commanding, with dense flavours of dried plum, nutmeg, and wet slate, supported by firm, fine-grained tannins and a mouth-filling richness. Extraordinarily long, ethereal finish with lingering notes of orange peel, cedar, and smoky mineral that suggest decades of ageing potential.

Serving temperature

Serve at 16-18 °C

Food pairings

Roasted rack of lamb with herb crust, wild boar pappardelle with sage, grilled ribeye steak with chimichurri, aged Asiago with truffle honey, braised short ribs with Chianti reduction

Awards & recognition

Rated 95 points by Wine Spectator - 'Intense, brooding, and concentrated with remarkable complexity and length'
