Tasting notes

Deep, opaque purple-black colour with garnet rim. Extraordinarily complex nose of blackcurrant liqueur, violets, and crushed rocks with layers of dark chocolate, pipe tobacco, and exotic spice. The palate is monumental, with concentrated flavours of black cherry preserves, plum compote, and roasted herbs, supported by firm yet polished tannins. Remarkably long finish with notes of truffle, cedar, and sweet spice lingering for minutes.

Serving temperature

Serve at 16-18 °C

Food pairings

Braised short ribs with truffle jus, saddle of venison with blackcurrant sauce, grilled côte de boeuf with béarnaise, roasted duck breast with fig and port reduction, aged Roquefort with honeycomb
