Protos Roble is a 100% Tempranillo from Bodegas Protos, founded in 1927 as the first winery in Ribera del Duero, aged six months in American and French oak.

Deep ruby, it shows ripe red cherry, strawberry and blackberry, with vanilla, spice and a little toast.

Medium to full-bodied, with dark fruit, cocoa and warm spice and smooth, round tannins, it finishes fresh and fruity.

Easy with grilled pork ribs, pasta bolognese or chicken satay.

Tasting notes
▾

Deep ruby red with garnet edges. Medium intensity nose of ripe red cherry, strawberry, and blackberry with attractive vanilla, spice, and subtle toast from oak ageing. Medium to full-bodied palate with flavours of dark fruit balanced by cocoa and a touch of warm spice. Smooth, well-integrated tannins contribute to a round, velvety mouthfeel. Well-structured, fruity, and fresh with a long, persistent finish where lingering fruit flavours meld with soft, spicy oak character.
