Niepoort Late Bottled Vintage, in its own gift box, offers the depth of a single-harvest Port in a style built for earlier drinking.

The wine spends longer ageing in barrel than a standard Vintage Port before bottling, softening its structure while keeping the rich, dark-fruited character that makes Niepoort's fortified wines so sought after.

The grapes come from Douro vineyards farmed organically, with biodynamic practices applied across much of the Niepoort estate.

Niepoort has been crafting Port since 1842, when the family arrived in Portugal from Holland, and today Dirk Niepoort leads the house as its fifth generation, working alongside the Nogueira family, master blenders to the estate since its founding.

Wine details

20% ABV - 750 ml - Porto DOC

Sustainability

Niepoort's Douro vineyards include plots of over 100-year-old mixed-variety field blends — the traditional Vinha Velha approach — farmed without herbicides, relying on natural biodiversity and deep root systems developed over generations to maintain vine health without chemical dependency.

Tasting notes

Deep ruby-purple with aromas of dark cherry, blackcurrant, dried plum, cinnamon, and subtle Douro earthiness. Bottled unfiltered in the traditional style, this wine retains single-vintage structure — dark fruit, dark chocolate, black pepper, and schist minerality on the palate. Long, warming, and firmly structured. Decant before serving.

Serving temperature

Serve at 16-18 °C

Food pairings

Stilton and crackers, dark chocolate truffles, berry tarts, walnut brownie; Asian pairings: salted egg yolk mooncake, black sesame tang yuan, Chinese layered red bean pastry, Japanese wagashi with red bean filling
